Scholarships
A number of general Macquarie University scholarships are available.
Unit specific scholarships are also available to students enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
The GL Melville Actuarial Scholarship and the Laurie Schalchlin Memorial Actuarial Scholarship
These scholarships are available to students enrolled in or intending to enrol in the Bachelor of Commerce – Actuarial Studies program, or a combined actuarial studies program. They are open to both high school leavers and continuing Macquarie students. The scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, financial need and the personal circumstances of the applicant. Tress Cocks and Maddox Scholarship in Law
This scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled in the BA LLB, BA-Psy LLB, BSc-Psy LLB, BAppFin LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, BCom-Accg LLG, BCom-ActStud LLB, BCom-Mktg LLB, BEc LLB, BMedia LLB, BsocSc LLB, or BSc LLB, BEnvMgt LLB, BEnvSc LLB degree programs. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, financial need and the personal circumstances of the applicant. Candidates for the scholarship must be permanent residents of Australia. The scholarship is valued at $2,000 and will normally be tenable for one year only.

The Alf and Pearl Pollard Memorial Prize
Awarded to the most outstanding student in the fourth year of undergraduate study at the Faculty of Business and Economics.
The AMP Prize for Actuarial Control Cycle 1
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for proficiency in the unit ACST400 Actuarial Control Cycle 1.
The AMP Prize for Quantitative Methods for Asset Liability Management
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for proficiency in the unit ACST305 Quantitative Methods for Asset Liability Management.
The Assoc Prize
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for proficiency in the unit ACST211 Combinatorial Probability.
The Hubert Vaughan Prize
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for the most meritorious performance in the unit ACST354 Survival Models.
The KPMG Actuaries Prize for First Year Actuarial Studies
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor with a coherent study in Actuarial Studies. Awarded for the most meritorious performance in first year units in the Actuarial Studies program.
The KPMG Actuaries Prize for Second Year Actuarial Studies
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor with a coherent study in Actuarial Studies. Awarded for the most meritorious performance in second year units in the Actuarial Studies program.
The KPMG Actuaries Prize for General Insurance Pricing and Reserving
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for proficiency in the unit ACST357 General Insurance Pricing and Reserving.
The Peter Hains Memorial Prize for Actuarial Studies
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for proficiency in the unit ACST355 Contingent Payments 2.
The Tillinghurst-Towers Perrin Prize for 300-level Actuarial Studies
Open to all students proceeding to the degree of Bachelor. Awarded for the most meritorious performance in 300-level units in the Actuarial Studies program.
