The main areas of research in the Statistics Department are:
- Mathematical and Computational Statistics
- Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics
- Bioinformatics
Researchers in the department publish their results in internationally respected journals and regularly present their work at international conferences.
An important aspect of our research is the close integration with Research degree supervision which can be seen from our Student Research Projects.
Each year in late July, the department holds a Research Celebration, where staff and postgraduate students present aspects of their current research. The list of talks for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008 are now available.
